Instead of cutting diamonds (which are usually out of stock and inflated in market), buy a needle and put your cash stack in your inventory. Buy as many tanned red d'hide you can and make d'hide chaps. Making this give close to cutting diamond xp and you actually make a profit of a little over 7000gp per chaps so save them! Keep making and banking. Once at 99 note your chaps and sell them to general store for profit!

Yes, this is the slower but less costly way. I assume black d'hide crafting is a loss of gp?

Doing it would black d'hide would require farming it / buying from players, then selling to players. You can buy tanned red d'hide from the skilling store so it's just as easy as doing diamonds only it's not sold out 24/7.

I've always done hides over gems simply so I don't have to click as often :p

    Fixed what?
I cut gems the other day and it was the same as it's always been

You're probably thinking of bolt/arrow making

probably not, but it is hard to get bulk d'hide and you have to tan it yourself. Then you would sell it to players rather than the general store. If it uses just 1 leather I think this would also be profitable and counts towards the 500 black dragon leather pieces crafted achievement.

You just use chisel on gem once and it automatically crafts the inv of gems. You used to spam click chisel on gems.
