There are different ways to get pets, you can get them as drop, by buying them from a few shops, by donating and by taming them.
To start taming pets you will nedd to complete "Mastering enhancement" quest. Once you complete the quest you can train your pets.

Once you have completed the quest you can start taming NPC's.
You can buy more taming ropes from the taming master, 1 for 750k or 5 for 2.5m.
You can get Strong taming rope from daily task trader for 700 task points, or from other players.
To tame a pet you need to attack a monster and when its nearly dead there is a chance that you will throw the taming rope, when you do that one of three things can happen: you tame the monster, you fail to tame it and keep the rope, or you fail to tame it and the rope breaks.

Be careful with Dwarf cannon, Vengance spell, recoil from rings, Deflect prayers and familiars because those can kill the monster while you try to tame it.

Here is an example of a player taming a pet.
There is a 1/100 chance that you will throw a taming rope to a monster (1/65 for strong rope).
When you throw it there is a chance of 1/(monsters combat level x10) that you will catch them.
This tells us that lower combat level NPC's are easier to catch
When you tame a pet you can now train it, to do it you have to open your bolt pouch[IMG] , at top left corner you click "pets"[IMG] , search for the pet you tamed and select it [IMG], then click on the "Put-Down" button.
Once your pet is following you you will need to attack a monster and let it attack it or use your bolt pouch on the monster that you want the pet to attack so it can gain experience. Also be sure to have auto retaliate off, so its the pet who gets the xp and not you.
When your pet levels up you will get Stat points (shown bottom left corner of the bolt pouch interface), you will use this points to level up the statistic that you prefer. At the time of selecting what statistic to level up, keep in mid that the tamed pet will have the same attack style as the monster, for example if you tame a goblin, the goblin tamed pet will attack with melee, and theres no point on using the Stat points on mage/ranged.
As the pet levels up, it will also grow up.
You can also use Pet double experience scrolls to train it faster, you get them from players or from daily task trader.
The max lvl a pet can get is 225.
If your pet dies you have an option to revive it on your bolt pouch, it will cost you 10m.
You can heal a pet by feeding it Tiger and Fury sharks, obtained in the dungeon where you got them to finish the quest.
You can get a few pets from the Dungeoneering rewards shop, there are just a few pets that you can get, and those are:
    • Glottonous behemoth = 475k tokens and 175 kills.
    • Astea Frostweb = 475k tokens and 90 kills.
    • Bulwark beast = 600k tokens and 175 kills
    • Sagittare = 550k tokens and 75 kills.
    • Necrolord = 700k tokens and 185 kills.
    • Dreadnaut = 900k tokens and 185 kills.
    • Kal'Ger the Warmonger = 1m tokens and 200 kills.

You should add rates, both rope and NPC.

You should also add that using a cannon/veng/recoil/deflect prayer/familiar can kill the monster while its attempting to capture.

    Great guide!
A good additional note is, you don’t need to attack something to make your pet attack it.
Right click > use bolt pouch, then use it on an npc in close proximity and the pet will attack the npc.

keep up the good work! :p

Yeah, sorry about that guys. Super had to post it before we could finish with all the details. But we're only missing 1 bit to the thread now. The Kill Count required to successfully buy the dungeoneering pets from the Rewards Shop. If you can assist with those, cause you know them, please post them. ^_^

For the dung warmonger you need to kill the boss 400 times then purchase it from the dung shop for 800k-1m dung point, if I recall it worked out about 100 hours to get the 400 kills making it the hardest pet to obtain at the time. Not sure about now things may of changed
